PBA's Women's Series

Liz Johnson of Cheektowaga, N.Y., who led block one, continued dominance in Thursday’s qualifying of the Women's Series during the Chameleon Championship at Taylor Lanes, the fourth stop on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour.

“I had a really good morning and made a lot of good shots but I was struggling tonight,” Johnson said. “I just tried to grind out my shot. Luckily the scores were low, I was grinding some out in the 190s, so I think that was the biggest factor.”

“Tomorrow I hope to bowl like I did this morning,” she added. “I know the breakdown (of the lanes) will be different bowling with the women, the shot won’t be all over the place like it was today. I just want to play smart out there and not make too many mistakes.”

Johnson is an alternate to the Women’s Series exempt field and was given the opportunity to compete in this event, as was Olivia Sandham, due to Shannon Pluhowsky’s and Shannon O’Keefe’s absence in this event. Johnson competed regularly in the 2007 Women’s Series.
