Jensen To Forego “Other” World Series To Continue Bowling

Storm Products regional sales representative Tyler Jensen of Fort Worth, Texas, will be around for the second week of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) World Series of Bowling after all, but at a cost. Jensen, who entered the World Series for a week of vacation and to have fun with his bowling buddies, had no idea he’d finish in the top 16 in any of the five daily events, but he qualified 16th for the Viper Championship match play round and third for the Chameleon Championship. Both match play rounds will be held next week.

Jensen at first said he couldn’t stick around next week, but his boss, Storm Products Vice President-Sales Hank Boomershine, is also bowling in the World Series. After jokingly telling Jensen he was fired because he qualified,
Boomershine reversed his decision Thursday. Well, sort of: “I told Tyler he was fired if he was going to miss work. Now I told him he’s fired if he doesn’t bowl next week,” Boomershine grinned.

“I’m staying to bowl,” Jensen said. “But do you know anyone who wants to buy my World Series tickets for Sunday?” Jensen, a Texas Rangers baseball fan, will be forced to miss his favorite baseball team’s World Series home game to remain in Las Vegas.
