The Primal™ Rage bowling ball (#redball) put MOTIV® on the map. When released, it was awarded the highest backend rating of any ball ever made. The Primal Rage was also the first MOTIV ball used to win a televised PBA national title. That was a great day!

As for the Venom™ Shock, yes, it is the most popular MOTIV ball ever made and for good reason. It is the go-to ball for so many bowlers and has earned a spot in bowling bags around the world. Because of it's performance record, the Venom Shock has been in the product line for 9 years!

And now, we've combined these two incredible MOTIV masterpieces to create the PRIMAL SHOCK. People are always sending us their ideas on balls they think would be really cool and this mash-up of the Venom Shock and Primal Rage is at the top of the list.

MOTIV Bowling introduces The New Jackal™ Ambush

The newest predator in the vicious Jackal line, the Jackal™ Ambush will catch opponents off guard with its strength and control of its environment. 

This ultra-strong beast pushes the boundaries of ball motion and hook in oil, providing a smooth and controlled ball motion, even in the heaviest concentrations. The Jackal Ambush allows you to go on the hunt, knowing that you have the strength behind you to dominate. 

The Jackal™ Ambush introduces the release of a brand new cover stock system; Leverage Solid Reactive. Leverage is formulated to be smoother down lane and stronger in the oil than the Coercion cover stock systems previously used for this ball motion. This is the most aggressive and cover stock system ever developed in the MOTIV ball line. 

Paired with this new system is the proven Predator™ V2 core. Used in the legendary Jackal™ Ghost and the Alpha Jackal used by Wesley Low to shoot 900, the Predator V2 is ideal in heavy oil conditions when a high performance, asymmetrical core is necessary. The Return of The MOTIV Jackel

The Jackal has been resurrected!  The new Jackal Ghost is here to reign terror on heavy oil.  With paranormal performance, it delivers more total hook potential than any previous Jackal with no loss in continuation.  It’s scary good!

The Predator V2 weight block, first used on the Jackal LE, is now at the core of the Jackal Ghost.  Featuring a low RG and loads of differential, this asymmetric design is easy to rev and produces massive track flare. 

Combining the physics of the Predator V2 with the chemistry of the new

Coercion HFS (High Friction Solid) cover stock, the Jackal Ghost elevates heavy oil performance to a new level.  Coercion HFS is the most aggressive cover stock to date on a bowling ball in the Jackal product line.  Tuned with a 3000 Grit LSS finish, bowlers will see both excellent mid-lane read and unbelievable continuation.

New MOTIV Jackal Carnage

MOTIV Jackal Carnage will debut on January 20^th, 2016. The Jackal Carnage Red/Red Solid Coercion™ XFS coverstock, finished to 3000 Grit LSS, is designed for heavy oil but the Predator™ Asymmetric core (in the Raptor Talon) should provide a smooth motion. The NEOMARK™ color labeling is Black Pearl/Gray Pearl.

The new Jackel Carnage is being released worldwide January 20th, 2016.

MOTIV Introduces The Octane Burn

MOTIV Octane Burn is Blue Flame Pearl Helix™ SFD Pearl Reactive Coverstock finished to 500 Grit LSP wrapped around the Quadfire™ core. Design intent for Light-Medium Oil with strong Angular Motion.

“When the oil pattern breaks down, the Octane Burn will light up the rack. Built for light to medium oil, it provides more length than the Forza Redline and the Venom Panic, while delivering a strong backend motion” reports MOTIV.

The Blue Flame pearl cover stock on the Octane™ Burn features our new Helix™ SFP Reactive technology. Complimented with a 5500 Grit LSP finish, this cover is clean with a strong response to friction.  Compared to the original Octane, while being angular, this new shell has a slightly smoother transition and does offer a little more control.  

World Wide Release date is December 9, 2015. 

The MOTIV Revolt Havoc

The announcement for the new MOTIV Revolt™ Havoc: 

“The new MOTIV Revolt™ Havoc is a devastating weapon for medium-heavy oil with the unique ability to read the lane early, yet provide unbelievable continuation. It's a ball motion that seemed impossible...until now.”  

Pretty heady stuff, but their recent High Performance offerings have compared well to the other manufacturers HP balls. Vanquish core from the Revolt series this ball is topped with the Helix coverstock finished to 3000 grit (500/1000/2000). 

Further MOTIV suggests: “Because the Revolt™ Havoc is incredibly strong, it is an obvious fit for speed dominant and low rev players. And because it has the unique ability to still provide tremendous continuation, the ball is also a versatile weapon for competitive bowlers that have higher rev rates. While these players typically experience a weak finish from strong equipment, they will experience outstanding continuation from the Revolt™ Havoc on higher volume patterns.” 

Not much more can be said. World Wide Release Date is October 14th, 2015.

New Ball From MOTIV

The Forza Redline is the new benchmark reaction for MOTIV, more length then the solid Forza yet it still offers more control than the Octane. 

A benchmark ball is one designed for medium oil which is intended to allow you to make adjustments more easily. You want a ball that is in the middle as far as overall hook, overall length and you want a smooth backend reaction. Of course the ball’s versatility will match up well for a variety of league bowlers on a Typical House Shot (THS).

The new Helix Pearl Reactive coverstock finished at 5000 Grit LSP (Laser Scan Polished) gives predictable length. The proven Torx inner core with its 2.50 RG and 0.051 Differential offers just enough strength with high flare and control.

All of these factors give you a ball that will easily allow you to tell if you need a ball with more or less hook, more or less length and more or less angle on the backend.

Release date for the MOTIV Forza Redline is August 26th, 2015.

The Primal Rage REMIX is here and Ronnie Russell rolled it on the CBS Sports Network in winning the PBA Badger Open!

MOTIV Adds Covert Revolt in February

MOTIV reveals the Covert Revolt.  The new ball is wrapped in NEW Turmoil™ HFS (High Friction Solid) Reactive Cover Stock, surrounding the NEW Vanquish™ Core Design to make an earlier move on the lane and drive through the pin deck.  The black smoke colored ball with Dark gray NeoMark™ Graphics is finished at 3500 grit. Look for smooth motion on medium-heavy oil, arriving February 14th.

 

MOTIV Adds Sigma Sting

The Sigma Sting™ is a pearl tuned to be an benchmark ball.  Engineered for medium oil, it provides great length and outstanding backend motion that continues confidently through the pin deck.  This is the first time MOTIV has put a pearl cover stock around the Sigma™ core. 

The low RG Sigma™ core utilized has been a favorite of MOTIVated bowlers because it provides a versatile ball motion with a very high strike percentage.  The 15# model has a differential of .047, which produces plenty of track flare without expending too much energy, leaving fuel in the tank for a strong backend. 

The Sigma Sting™ cover technology is Fusion™ Pearl Reactive, first used on the Primal Rage™.  This shell is known for being very angular when it encounters friction, yet retains energy for bulldozing continuation.  It is tuned with a 1500 grit Power Gel® polished finish to give this low RG ball more length and faster response. Look for the new MOTIV in December.

MOTIV Has Cruel Intent

MOTIV Cruel Intent is designed for Medium – Heavy conditions with Blue/Green Pearl 4000 Grit Sanded Fusion Pearl Reactive coverstock wrapped around the Sinister Asymmetric core.

 

At the heart of the Cruel Intent™ is the huge Sinister™ core. It harnesses asymmetry to boost track flare and promote proper transition in very low friction environments. New Tribal from MOTIV Coming October 1st

MOTIV Tribal will be released 10/1/13. The charcoal and silver pearl Fusion™ Pearl Reactive coverstock finished to 2000-grit then polished is wrapped around their Halogen™ Core. The ball is smartly accented with their Neomark logos in Black/Red Pearl.

MOTIV To Release The Urethane Tank

MOTIV to introduce a urethane ball called the Tank. The new entry is a Green Camo Ballistix™ Solid Urethane finished with 2000 grit with White Neomark labeling. Wrapped inside the Tank is the Gear™core. World Wide Release Date: April  24, 2013.  RG: #15/2.48 DIFF: #15/.034

MOTIV Raptor Talon Introduced

The MOTIV Raptor Talon features the low RG Predator core, which is an asymmetric beast having a .060 primary differential and .015 intermediate on the 15# model. The core revs easily and produces massive track flare. The Raptor Talon encases the Predator core with the new Fusion Solid Reactive shell, which comes out of the box with a 2000 grit sanded finish. MOTIV suggests “It starts to hook in the oil and does not stop.”

MOTIV Introduces the Primal Scream

MOTIV recently released new Whiplash™ cover technology on the 2Cruel and that same shell is utilized on the Primal Scream in a solid reactive formulation. The black and neon green cover is sanded to 4000 grit to compliment the chemistry of the shell.

The core being used on the Primal Scream is a modified dual-density Impulse core.  MOTIV brought the RG down from 2.60 to 2.55 to provide exactly the right amount of length down the lane.  This allows the Whiplash™ Solid Reactive shell to fully engage at the backend of the lane.  This new symmetric Impulse V2 core has a .050 differential to provide a track flare potential of at least 5 inches. MOTIV's New 2Cruel

The new 2Cruel™ from MOTIV. The new Sinister™ asymmetric core has a higher RG to provide length, and differentials that produce strong track flare. From MOTIV "This weapon is then armored with a new Whiplash™ Hybrid Reactive cover to generate a backend reaction that is absolutely devastating." Release July 18th.

MOTIV Introduces the Sigma Hybrid

The new Diablo Red and Charcoal Pearl MOTIV Sigma Hybrid is built on award winning technology from the Sigma Tour, which won 1st place as the Most Versatile Ball of 2011 in the Bowling This Month Magazine's (BTM) Reader's Choice Awards.

While the Hybrid edition does feature the same proven Sigma™ core design, the cover technology (Atomix™ Hybrid Reactive) and box finish (1000 Wet Sand) the Sigma Hybrid should provide a different zone of performance. Designed for medium-heavy oil, the Sigma Hybrid reads earlier and provides a smoother ball motion.

League bowlers that are rev-challenged or speed dominant will appreciate the strength of the Sigma Hybrid on a fresh house shot. Tournament bowlers will use it on medium-heavy volume sport patterns. 15# SPECS: RG: 2.47, DIFF: .047

MOTIV steps into the Entry Level Performance Catagory

MOTIV™. will introduce the Ascent™ May 30th. Available in both a solid and pearl option, the Ascent™ line offers two different ball motions for Light Oil.



The Pink/Purple Pearl edition is much longer with a more angular backend (Pearl Finish: 2000 Polish).

The Red/Blue Solid Ascent reads earlier and produces a smooth strong arc to the pocket (Solid Finish: 1000 Wet Sand.

Both Ascent™ balls combine the MOTIVator-Z™ cover from the QZ2 Backdraft with the proven Recon™ core . The resulting RG is 2.59 with a .025 differential on the 15# model.
