New From Roto Grip, TNT

NEW PRODUCTS

TNT

HP3
RELEASE DATE - 2/14
STREET DATE - 2/17

Cover –
eTrax PLUS Solid Reactive = We have never used this in the solid form before…This cover is overall stronger than original eTrax in terms of traction and response, but it’s not as early and aggressive as say MicroTrax or XtremeTrax…

Core –
Torpex Core = New Core Technology featuring Torque Sphere Technology (Like a power ball)…. Something we haven’t used since 2014 in the Unhinged & Hysteria…. The Torque Sphere will create a different type of continuation down lane since it is placed just above the inner equator. Not to mention this is now the lowest RG symmetrical part Roto Grip has in the line.

Where It Fits –

Designed to be the “Benchmark Ball” everyone needs… best example is like the old original IDOL, only better due the cover not being as early. There will be traction in oil along with the continuation down lane no matter the number of revolutions.

2015 Junior Gold Championships in Chicago To Be Televised

The Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and
Master, is the pinnacle event for top youth bowlers and this summer the title matches of the annual tournament will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network. An agreement is in place to televise the boys and girls championships matches of the Under 12, Under 15 and Under 20 divisions.

"The Junior Gold program is exploding in both participation and
interest and national television will elevate our future stars of the sport into
an even brighter spotlight," USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. "A
future for the sport starts with youth programs such as Junior Gold and kids atthe event will have the experience of a lifetime being part of a major television broadcast."

The television package was made possible in part thanks to funding from the sale of adult spectator passes. The Junior Gold Championships started selling the one-day or all-week passes at the 2014 tournament.

"All the funds from the spectator pass are going right back into the
enhancement of the event," Murphy said. "We really appreciate the fantastic support from all of our Junior Gold parents and families for helping grow this event into something so special for the kids."

The 2015 Junior Gold Championships will be held in the Chicago area from July 13-17. All title matches will take place at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois, on July 17. Details on the broadcast agreement will be released soon.

The Junior Gold Championships annually awards scholarships and crowns a boys and girls champion in the three age divisions. Top qualifiers and champions also can earn spots on Junior Team USA. A record field of nearly 2,500 youth bowlers took part in the 2014 Junior Gold Championships.

Junior Gold competitors start the journey to the national tournament by
qualifying through local tournaments. At the national championships,
competitors must go through three days of qualifying and then match play to determine a champion.

The Junior Gold Championships week also includes exhibits, seminars and the Collegiate Experience, where bowlers have the opportunity to learn about bowling programs from colleges throughout the country.

Roto Grip Lets Us Look Behind the Curtain for 2014

Roto Grip announces, the newest additions to the Roto Grip family of performance bowling balls set to hit pro shop walls on January 7th, 2014.

The HP4™ line expands reaction with the addition of the new Hyper Cell™. In the HP3™ line the Asylum™ joins the fray, while in the HP2™ line the Uproar™ rounds out their newest creations.

With the success of the original Cell™ and Nucleus™ Core back in 2009 and given the more recent success of the MicroBite™ solid coverstock used on the original Defiant™, Roto felt it was time to mix the best of the past and the strongest of the present into one. And so the Hyper Cell was born. There is no doubt the Defiant series of balls have been quite successful over the last couple years, but we knew it was time for something just a little more special. Wrapped with the 80H™ MicroBite solid reactive cover, this ball will create even more midlane motion and more continuation than ever before in the HP4 line.

Utilizing the proven Middle Roll 70™ core that has made the Disturbed™ and Deranged™ staples in most arsenals, Roto set out to create another valuable option in this line so they wrapped this sweet rolling core with a 63MH™ Hybrid reactive coverstock. As we all know, hybrid creates the best of both worlds with ease through the front thanks to the pearl and control on the backends thanks to the solid.
Given the performance of the Rumble™ Roto Grip added a pearlized version. This new addition features the same Late Roll 51™ Core which will provide plenty of length and superb control off the breakpoint.

The US Open Battles - Great Show

If you didn’t happen to catch the finals of the US Open, you missed quite a show. Not only did the men and women compete on the same lanes throughout the tournament, but the men’s and women’s champions faced off in a Battle of the Sexes to determine one ultimate champion.

In the first women’s match; which didn’t make TV; reigning USBC Queens champion Diandra Asbaty fell to reigning Team USA Trials champion Danielle McEwan 192-171. McEwan advanced to face two-time Women’s US Open champion Liz Johnson.

On the men’s side, the first match was Team USA member and collegiate standout Marshall Kent against PBA champion Wes Malott. Kent left a bucket (2-4-5-8 combination) and missed the spare to allow Malott to win with a mark in the 10th frame 200-193. Malott advanced to face five-time men’s US Open winner Pete Weber.

The men’s and women’s semifinal matches; Malott versus Weber and McEwan versus Johnson; were contested live on TV as both matches were conducted simultaneously. Johnson topped her Team USA teammate McEwan 227-202 while Malott rolled a 279 to best Weber’s 182 and setup a Master’s rematch against Jason Belmonte. Johnson advanced to face top seed Kelly Kulick. Kulick has been the top seed at three consecutive Women’s US Opens.

In the finals, Malott took advantage of Belmonte’s early struggles to best the Master’s champion 214-156. It was the first major title for Malott who has just come back from recent knee surgery. In the women’s finals, Johnson threw six consecutive strikes to easily best defending champion Kulick 257-195.

In the final TV match, Johnson and Malott faced off in the Battle of the Sexes round to determine the ultimate champion. Johnson, who faced Malott on TV previously in a PBA tournament, rolled a 194 to best Malott’s 188 earning herself an extra $10,000.

All eight bowlers in the stepladder finals are members of the Storm or Roto Grip staffs. While it would have been nice to see the first stepladder matches, the overall show was worth the watch.

Roto Grip Reveals Their Summer Introductions

Rich in Defiant™ heritage, the Totally Defiant™ produces the strength and power of the time tested Paragon™ Core, resulting in heavy roll through the midlane and the pin deck.

The 74MH™ Yellow/Smoke/Ruby pearl reactive coverstock is a pure resin material that will provide more length (skid) and change of direction down lane (snap) than any of the Defiant balls before it.

The Totally Defiant comes out of the box at 1500-grit polished and will be the most angular Defiant to date, even on medium/longer or medium/heavy oil conditions. The shiny pearl cover can easily be sanded if earlier motion is desired, however the idea behind this ball was to produce skid and snap in an asymmetric design that will compare to no other.

Roto Grip Deranged
After the outstanding performance of the previously released Disturbed™, it was an easy decision to complement the early revving symmetrical solid by adding the 61MH™ pearl reactive coverstock, giving Roto Grip a great 1-2 punch in the HP3™ Line of balls. So when the Disturbed starts to roll too early, the Deranged™ will give you more length and more backend.

The proven Middle Roll 70™ core provides superior midlane roll and continuous motion through the pin deck unmatched by any other 2.50 RG core on the market today.

The 61MH™ Green Pearl/White Pearl reactive coverstock (1500-grit Polished) will provide great length and a great change of direction down lane due to the retention of energy that comes in a pearlized material.

Roto Grip Rumble
The brand spanking new Late Roll 51™ core was designed to create the same amount of length as the previously used Neutron™ core in this line. However, this new shape yields a little less differential which means more control at the breakpointfor the new Roto Grip Rumble.

The newly formulated 55M™ Orange/Black solid reactive coverstock (2000-grit Abralon) was created to combat medium oil conditions. This coverstock will easily clear the front part of the lane yet still provide the needed traction to be competitive on those in-between conditions.

The combination of the brand new Late Roll 51™ core and the brand new 55M™ solid reactive coverstock will give you a ball that bridges the gap between the Wrecker™ & Shatter™ reactions and the Scream™ & Shout™ reactions.

Roto Grip Scream
The Late Roll 46™ core was designed to provide maximum length with stable control down lane. This core produces a minimal amount of flare and strong hitting power through the pocket.

The 42L™ Gold Pearl/Deep Teal Pearl reactive coverstock was created to combat lighter oil conditions (1500-grit Polished). The Scream™ was designed for those lighter oil conditions where you need a ball that provides you with great length and control at the breakpoint. In comparison, it will react later than the Shout™.

Roto Grip Shout
The Late Roll 46™ core was designed to provide maximum length with stable control down lane. This core will produce a minimal amount of flare and strong hitting power through the pocket.

The 45L™ Lite Green/Dark Green solid reactive coverstock was created to combat lighter oil conditions (3000-grit Abralon). This coverstock will react sooner than the 42L™ pearl reactive coverstock and create more separation between itself and the Scream™.

The Shout™ was designed for those lighter oil conditions where you need a ball that provides you with good length and control at the breakpoint. In comparison, it will react sooner than the Scream.
