The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) and Bayer HealthCare, Consumer Care division, have agreed to expand their partnership adding the Morristown, NJ, based company’s Bayer brand as the official pain reliever of the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour in 2009.
The agreement included title sponsorship of the Bayer Earl Anthony Medford Classic held Jan. 14-18 in Medford, Ore., plus a package of commercial spots, signage, banner advertising on PBA.com, ESPN Classic re-airs and other promotional opportunities throughout 2009.
“A recognized leader in pain management, Bayer is proud to be the official pain reliever of the PBA,” said Barton Warner, Vice President of Marketing and New Business for Bayer Consumer Care. “Aspirin has been trusted for more than 110 years to provide safe and effective pain relief and can offer players the relief they need from the aches and pains associated with the sport.”
As part of the agreement, Bayer will sponsor three bowlers who will wear the Bayer logo on their shirt backs and right sleeves and throw specially-made spare balls emblazoned with the Bayer logo.
“We are pleased to announce this sponsorship with Bayer,” said PBA Commissioner and CEO Fred Schreyer. “We appreciate Bayer’s continued confidence in professional bowling. Bayer has been a great sponsor of the PBA for the last several years and we look forward to implementing the various programs of the sponsorship to help fuel the growth of both of our brands.”
