An additional battle within the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA)'s World Series of Bowling qualifying rounds is a contest for berths in the USA vs. The World special event which will take place on Nov. 6 for delayed airing on ESPN. The top six United States players and the top six international bowlers after 60 games will meet in a one-game team match.
Through Thursday’s Scorpion round, the U.S. contingent consisted of Bill O’Neill, Sean Rash, Chris Barnes, Norm Duke, Brian Kretzer and Michael DeVaney. The international group’s top six after 48 games included Finland’s Mika Koivuniemi, Kimmo Lehtonen and Osku Palermaa; Venezuela’s Amleto Monacelli, Australia’s Jason Belmonte and Sweden’s Martin Larsen.
